Decree by the Ministery of Health
In a decree on 27 June 2005, the Italian Ministry of Health recognized the therapeutic properties of the thermal mineral waters of Aquardens.
Authorization and accreditations
The Municipality of Pescantina (Verona), with authorization No. 78 of the official register, declared Aquardens S.p.A. a spa and health facility registered to provide specialist outpatient assistance. The accreditation was renewed on 21/11/2017 as a “Thermal establishment with medical clinic, within which activities related to the following specialized branches of medicine can be carried out: cardiology, vascular surgery, endocrinology, orthopedics and traumatology, otolaryngology, dermosyphilopathy, physical medicine and rehabilitation".
Initially, three different clinical trials were launched, aimed at documenting the clinical efficacy in the arthro-rheumatic, dermatological and vascular fields.
On 8 January 2015 the Ministry of Health recognized the therapeutic properties of balneotherapy in the treatment of mild to moderate psoriasis.
On 26 July 2016, the Ministry of Health recognized the therapeutic properties of balneotherapy in the treatment of clinical manifestations of psoriatic arthritis.
On 11 January 2020, the Ministry of Health recognized the therapeutic properties of balneotherapy in the treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.
The third study, concerning the therapy of chronic venous insufficiency, is currently awaiting recognition. Aquardens was granted authorization by the Ministry of Health for the use of thermal mineral water in the water-based therapy in the decree dated 20 April 2017 and in inhalation therapy with a decree dated 27 June 2017.
The Medical Director of the Aquardens Thermal Health Center, specialized in thermal medicine, collaborates with other health professionals to treat patients using spa therapies, balneotherapy, inhalation treatments, rhinogenous deafness and vascular disorders.
