For the First Time in the World Comes Opera in a Sauna

The Aquardens Thermal Park, Italy's largest, and the renowned Arena di Verona Foundation announce a groundbreaking collaboration on July 9, 2024: opera in a sauna. For the first time in the world, opera, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be adapted to be performed in a sauna, creating an unprecedented sensory experience.

In Aquardens' new sauna-theater, spectators will be able to enjoy an immersive artistic performance inspired by the famous opera “Carmen,” exactly 150 years after its first performance. This unique 12-minute reinterpretation promises to engage audiences through a fusion of opera art and sauna rituals.

Sauna masters will use large colorful fans, replacing traditional cloths and towels, to transport spectators to an atmosphere of yesteryear.

Aquardens management and Arena Foundation management expressed great satisfaction and a common desire to offer unique experiences through this collaboration.

In addition, Aquardens' team of Aufgussmeisters, composed of international champions, has welcomed this initiative with great enthusiasm and is preparing with dedication for the big event.

The date is set for early 2025, when a new chapter in the history of opera and wellness will be opened. The new theater-sauna at Aquardens will have a capacity about 250 seats and will be followed by a silent zone dedicated to desert and relaxation.

Don't miss your chance for an unprecedented experience in the Aquardens theater-sauna.
