Thermal water
A natural world of wellness.
The natural mineral water that flows into the basins of Aquardens Thermal Water Park has therapeutic properties which were recognized by the Ministry of Health in the Decree of 27 June 2005. Guests can combine the pleasure of a visit to the Park with the benefits of the spa and hydrotherapy.
Long ago, this beautiful geographical area was covered by the sea and today the same thermal water (rich in salts of sodium, bromine and iodine, as well as calcium, magnesium and iron) flows microbiologically pure from fissures in the rock at the Aquardens spring. Due to the high temperatures and abundant mineral content, the water stimulates the immune system and has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effects, and reduces swelling.
Balneotherapy is highly recommended in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, skin conditions and vascular disease. It stimulates healing after fractures, dislocations, sprains and muscle strains and can combat dermatitis, including psoriasis, and varicose veins of the lower limbs.
Treatment is typically an immersion lasting between 10 and 15 minutes in water of temperatures between 35°C and 37°C, followed by a 30-minute rest to maximize health benefits. In order to optimize the therapeutic action of the thermal water and avoid the negative effects of excessive immersion in hot water, we suggest guests remain in the thermal pools for no longer than 20 minutes.
Salt-bromine-iodine water is particularly effective in the treatment of chronic diseases of the upper airway and a very effective treatment for catarrhal diseases affecting both adults and children.
The treatment of rhinogenic deafness by catheterization of the Eustachian tube or politzerization uses sulphurous thermal water, as indicated by the Ministry of Health.
